This is a fine example of the best made of all the Moisin Nagant Models. The M44 carbine was the final version of the famous Moisin Nagant Bolt action line.
These Polish made carbines are the best made of all the rifles with the wood to metal fit and the overall quality of finish being of the highest standards. Poland began manufacturing their clone of the Soviet Model 1944 Carbine (M44) in 1950, through until at least 1962. It is assumed the Poles manufactured these carbines on Soviet machinery relocated into Poland. Soviet M44 production ceased in 1948 and the machines used were relocated to Poland taking them a year to get production up and running.
This particular rifle was made in 1955 and is in almost mint condition and appears to have been hardly shot.
These classic rifles are a pleasure to shoot and respond well to handloading.
