This is the original model Redding scale. Like all Redding equipment it is well made and accurate with hardened knives on agate bearings, non tip pan, two poise beam measuring down to 1/10 of a grain.
Being one of the early models this Redding uses a paddle on the beam that sits in an oil bath to dampen the beam giving quick and accurate readings.
This example is in excellent condition with no visible wear marks and comes in its original box complete with instructions A rare and collectable scale that functions a accurately as any quality modern beam scale.
When handloading accurate scales are critical to the making of safe ammunition and the Redding scales are some of the best.
