Carl Gustav CG63 Target Rifle S/H Calibre 6.5 Swedish
Product Details
This is a very nice example of this fine target rifle that Dana Jones describes as the “Crown Jewel” of Swedish Mausers in his definitive book on the Swedish Mauser.
These rifles were built in the 1960s being introduced on 1st May 1963. Made mainly in the Carl Gustav’s factory they were built on existing m/94 and m/96 actions with a few using m/38 Husqvarna actions with 60,000 being made in total.
The rifle actions are drilled for the various aperture sights of the day with this particular rifle being fritted with the popular Soderin aperture rear sight along with a tunnel foresight accepting interchangeable elements.
The barrel is free floating and is heavier than the military version. The stock has a pistol grip and cheek rest on either side for right or left handed shooters. Glass bedding was also a factory option and this rifle has received this treatment making this a quite unusual example and further aiding the exceptional accuracy of these rifles.
This rifle is built on a 1898 action with matching bolt. It is in very good overall condition with a very good bore, woodwork and deep bluing.
A fine accurate shooting rifle that uses one of the most accurate military cartridges ever designed.
