A very nice example of this famous Enfield Target rifle in 7.62 x 51 Winchester calibre.
Originally made for competition shooting with in the British forces the L39A1 was converted from the No4 MK2 actions with the trigger suspended from receiver body rather than the trigger guard as in the No4 Mk1 actions.
The actions were fitted by a heavy hammer forged target barrel 6 groove rifling giving 1 twist in 12 inches and is half stocked.
This particular example is in excellent overall condition with little evident barrel wear the throat and lead being sharp and crisp. It has a 7.62 magazine that feeds reliably.
The rifle is fitted with a Parker Hale 5c aperture rear sight and a Parker Hale FS22A tunnel fore sight along with a Parker Hale foresight element container fitted to the butt..
In addition to the issue sling swivels the fore-end has an additional sling swivel button for the fitting of a bi-pod.
An accurate and historic rifle that will be highly competitive in any Transitional Rifle competition.
