 This an excellent example of a genuine 1947 Lee Enfield No 5 rifle (Jungle Carbine). It was made at the Fazakerly ordnance factory outside Liverpool. 

The rifle has a very fine finish to the wood and very little external wear both to the wood and metalwork. The bolt and receiver are matched and the bore is excellent with this rifle having shot good 4” groups at 100 yrds.  

It has the correct No5 MK1 rear sight graduated to 800 yards. The rubber bump pad on the rear of butt is in very good condition as these are often found in a deteriorating condition. 

 The receiver has all the correct lightening cuts, the bolt handle is hollowed out and the “wasp waisted” front tang trigger guard is fitted. 

 A fine example of one of the last Enfield designs, it was scheduled to replace the No 4 at the end of WW2 but the politics around the adoption of a self loading weapon lead to it being discredited for no reason with the wandering zero myth.
