Winchester Model 90 Pump Action Rifle S/H Calibre .22” RF

A nice example of this classic .22” pump action Winchester rifle. The round barrelled versions were a common sight in fairs grounds around the country when shooting was still enjoyed as an acceptable mass pastime.
Originally chambered for .22” Short it has been professionally reworked and proofed for .22Long Rifle ammunition.
The rifle is fitted with a 24” octagonal barrel and standard adjustable rear notch and blade foresights.
It is a third model rifle where the breech bolt and receiver
were both changed from the first and second model versions. The notched receiver accepted the newly designed bolt to produce a stronger and safer locking mechanism whilst still retaining the take down screw.
This rifles serial number indicates that it was made in 1941 the last year of manufacture and as such is a rare rifle 1941 being one of the years with the lowest number of rifles produced, some sources indicating that only three were made that year.
The rifle is in very good condition with wear commensurate with its age and is fully functioning with a very good barrel that shoots extremely well and is an accurate off hand rifle.
