Case Annealing Shell Holder

This little doofur is just the bee’s knees for holding cases to anneal their mouths and necks that have gone brittle and prone to splitting due to repeated resizing.
Just pop the shell holder spigot into your drill chuck. Drop a case (marked on its shoulder with 650 degree Fahrenheit Templistick/Tempillaq) into the holder; rotate the holder slowly with the drill whilst directing heat from a blow torch onto the case mouth ‘till the Tempilstick/laq changes colour. Then drop from the holder and repeat with another case.
Tempil products are available from welding suppliers.
Dropping the case into water ensures that the annealing doesn’t go too far down to the case head, for .303” size cases upwards I don’t bother dropping into water. Quenching does however remove the Tempil marks so each to his own method.
This shell holder will work with cases from .222” Remington up to .577” Snider.
